Dust to Dust

I come undone, not by gazing at
technological marvels or
fast-paced innovations
but the contact of
skin against dust.

My religion is not
human endeavors or
lionized individuals
but the slow-step dance
between Creator and creation.

These lungs expand and expand and expand,
and the arc of life comes to a eloquent headway
with the ground and it's true that
I come undone when you
find me in the dust.
